Coach Stewart Jesse

STEWART is truly in love with volleyball and spends most of this free time enjoying the sport. He has coached with Glass City since 2006 and has coached at a variety of levels including 10’s, 14’s, 15’s, 16’s, 17’s, and Early Bird Teams. He is also the Varsity coach at Bowsher High School; he holds a 59-33 record over 4 Years/ 3-Time Undefeated City League.

Stewart is also a college, high school and club volleyball official. Since 1995, he has worked as a high school official with his top honor being to have worked the Ohio State Final Four during the 2011 season. As a USAV Club official, he was honored to work the Adult National Finals in 2015, as well as the Professional Premier League (Women’s) National Finals also in 2015. As a college official, he works DIV II, DIV III, NAIA and NJCAA. He is also a BIG10 Line Judge. He also had the opportunity to officiate the NJCAA Women’s DIV II National Finals two years in a row.

Stewart is a graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point, an Army Captain, and a Veteran of the 1st Persian Gulf War (Operations Desert Storm). Following his time in service, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Chapman University in Orange, California.

Stewart’s coaching philosophy is that by doing the right things on a daily basis, winning will come with it. Every day he strives to ensure the players get better first as a person and second as a player. If these two things happen, then winning will take care of itself on the court.
