Coach Shaun Dryden


is a former International volleyball player and has been coaching volleyball since 2003. This is Shaun’s second year coaching for Glass City.

Shaun is from Houston, Texas and has attended various universities including San Jacinto Community College in Houston, Los Angeles Pierce College (Associates Degree) and Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) (Bachelors in General Studies, Bachelors in Business-Marketing and Management and Master’s in Business (MBA)).

Shaun has an extensive coaching resume and started coaching in 2003. He was Manager at Clear Lake High School for the women’s volleyball team from 2003 – 2006. From 2006 – 2007, he was a coach at the Houston Volleyball Academy. He was Manager for the San Jacinto College women’s volleyball team from 2007 – 2008. In 2010, AVA Volleyball Camp Coach and from 2010-2011 Shaun was a USA Volleyball Independent Contractor. In 2011, Shaun was a volunteer coach for the (IPFW Women’s Volleyball Team. He then moved on to be the Graduate Assistant for the IPFW (a Division 1 School) Women’s Volleyball Team from 2012-2013 and then was the Graduate Assistant for the Men’s Volleyball Team from 2013-2014. In 2016, he was the Freshman/C-Team Coach/Varsity Assistant at Angola High School. From 2015-2017 he was a Master Coach at Empowered Sports Club. Shaun is the current Varsity Volleyball Coach at Start High School.

Shaun not only has experience coaching, but extensive experience playing on the court. Shaun started playing volleyball in High School as a outsider hitter/libero. He also played club volleyball while in high school (2002-2006). From 2008-2010, he played Outside Hitter on the Los Angeles Pierece College Men’s Volleyball Team. From 2010-2012, he played on the IPFW Men’s Volleyball Team as Libero.

Shaun is a former International volleyball player and was a two-time PVL National Champion with Team Pineapple; he is a current member on Team Pineapple. His international experience includes: training with Falkenberg Vollibol Klub in Sweden in 2014, playing on the Bring It USA Tour in Slovenia and Italy in 2015 and playing on Blizzard Team in Serbia in 2016.
